HISTORY
A well-known myth surrounding the temple tells the story of a Brahmin family from the area who received a girl child as a gift from Bhagavathy, the deity. Later on, this infant changed into a celestial being and made their home where the temple is now located.
FESTIVALS
During eight days in the month of Dhanu, the Rigveda Laksharchana is performed, graced by Thantri and witnessed by esteemed Vedic academics. Every day, the Rigveda Archana begins in the wee hours, and Abhisheka is performed in the evening.
The first seven days of the event will feature cultural events featuring temple arts and art forms, which will be well-attended by numerous dignitaries and sizable crowds.
FAMOUS AS
The sanctum sanctorum (inner shrine), nadappura (decorative gate), and gopurams (towered entrance) of the temple are typical features of Kerala temple architecture.
