Introduction

Shri Bala Hanuman Mandir is a famous shrine of Lord Hanuman, the powerful monkey deity of strength, devotion, and courage, situated in Jamnagar of Gujarat. This temple is particularly famous for its vibrant Sankirtan or devotional singing and attracts a steady stream of devotees seeking blessings and spiritual solace. History

It was founded in the early 1960s by that great saint and enthusiast, Shri Prembhikshuji Maharaj, was for the purpose of promulgating the worship of Hanuman and the practice of Sankirtan-a term describing singing hymns and praises in devotion. The origin of the temple is closely related to the effort of reviving and strengthening the traditional ways of devotion. Over time, the temple has come to be amongst the comprehensive centers for the propagation and promotion of the worship of Hanuman through nonstop Sankirtan, a term applied to the religious functions conducted there.

Festivals

The most prominent celebration here is the birthday of Lord Hanuman, better known as Hanuman Jayanti. Special Sankirtans, processions, and other devotional programs attract several devotees. Another major festival celebrated here is Ram Navami, conducted on the birthday of the great Lord Rama. Temple celebrations during this time are especially colorful and include continuous singing and chanting other than the collective worshipping of deities. These festivals reflect that the temple binds deep piety and brotherhood together in the hearts of people visiting.
