FAMOUS AS
Papanasini is a sacred mountain stream located around 1 kilometer northwest of the temple grounds. Pilgrims wash here because they believe the waters are sacred and can absolve one’s sins. Furthermore, the temple provides facilities for immersing cremation ashes in the sacred mountain stream, which is then conveyed to the Kaveri River and from there to the ocean. This is part of the last rites.
